Twelve Stars that Stunned: The 2012 SAG Awards

Michelle Williams was ravishing in red Valentino!

Emma Stone wore a flirty, tea length Alexander McQueen gown. Perfection.

Sofia Vergara didn’t disappoint in this fuchsia Marchesa gown.

I’m loving white lately…Zoe Saldana was stunning in Givenchy Haute Couture!

Every girl loves a pop of color. How gorgeous was Emily Blunt in this jade Oscar de la Renta gown?

Naya Rivera in Naeem Khan. The beading and grayish purple hue is fantastic!

Stacy Keibler was beautiful in this lace Marchesa number.

Angelina Jolie was stunning in this fluid black Jenny Packham dress.

Jessica Chastain stood out in this cobalt Calvin Klein gown. The shade of blue perfectly complimented her hair and skin tone.

I loved the cap-sleeved Temperley London number that Sarah Hyland wore.

Rose Byrne, was the most daring and chic in an Elie Saab jumpsuit!

Ocatvia Spencer didn't need Help with her outfit...she walked away a winner! Beautiful!

Great Read: How to Find Joy that Lasts

Hope you are all this Sunday morning with a cup of coffee and a great read! I stumbled upon this fascinating article, "How to Find Joy that Lasts," that outlines the differences between happiness and excitement. The topic of happiness has been on my mind lately as I am also wrapping up the book, "The Happiness Project," by Gretchen Rubin. Wishing you all a happy, relaxing Sunday!

Happy Friday! After all of the shades of blue shown on the runway this week, I couldn't help but notice these fabulous blue party details. Hope you are doing something to celebrate and enjoy this last weekend in January!

Walking the Blue Carpet: Chanel Spring Couture 2012

"After the red carpet, the blue carpet," annouced Karl Lagerfeld at the debut of Chanel's Spring 2012 Couture collection. The catwalk was transformed into a blue carpet inside a lifesize jet. The jet featured dim lighting with exit signs, also complete with fluffy clouds overhead and navy, moonogrammed Chanel carpet. The chairs even swivelled around to offer a full view of the runway. Lagerfeld, who is quite the jetsetter, said there is nothing more relaxing than being on a plane. This serenity may also the reasoning behind the choice of color in the colleciton. The collection featured more than 122 shades of blue! Another visionary, forward-looking show from Chanel!

Building your Blog

Starting this blog 3 months ago has been so fulfilling and already an adventure. I'm always looking for ways to make Carried Away better. These helpful hints were a part of a fabulous series called Mini Alt Week by vmac & cheese. (Seriously, check out Victoria's blog if you haven't already- so wonderful!). The advice and insight from fellow design bloggers has me inspired to keep learning and turning my blog into the place of inspiration and I hope it to be.

The Fashion Fund: Making the Cut

Today, Vogue Magazine and the CFDA debuted the first installment of their 6 part series,“The Fashion Fund,” on Hulu. The online video series offers an intimate look at what it takes to be an up and coming American designer. In this first installment, we are introduced to the ten finalists being considered for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award. The film was directed by Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern. Enjoy!
